Privacy Policy for Arteeoo
Last Updated: February 2, 2026
Introduction
Arteeoo ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use the Arteeoo iOS app.
The Short Version
We have no servers. All your data stays on your device. We never see, store, or have access to your information.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you use Arteeoo, you may create:
- Calendar entries: Dates you mark as in-office, remote, out, or holiday
- Office locations: Addresses of your workplace(s) for GPS proximity detection
- GPS evidence: Location coordinates captured when you tap "Log Location" or when geofence auto-detection triggers
- Notes: Any notes you add to calendar days
- PTO/Out categories: Labels and budgets you configure for time off
Information We DON'T Collect
Arteeoo has zero server infrastructure. We don't collect:
- Analytics or usage data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Personal information
- Continuous location tracking
- Crash reports or diagnostics
- Any data about you or your usage
How We Use Your Information
Local Storage Only
All data is stored exclusively on your iOS device using Apple's secure on-device storage (SwiftData). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose one of the optional features below.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud sync:
- Your Arteeoo data syncs across your Apple devices via iCloud
- This sync is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud service
- We don't have access to your iCloud data
- You control this feature completely
- Apple's Privacy Policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy
Google Calendar Integration (Optional)
When you connect your Google Calendar:
- We display your existing Google Calendar events when you view a day in the app
- We only READ your calendar—we never write, modify, or delete any events
- You choose which calendars to display via toggles in Settings
- Calendar data is fetched on-demand and displayed in the app, not stored permanently
- Your Google OAuth token is stored securely in iOS Keychain on your device
- You can disconnect anytime in Settings or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Google's Privacy Policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
What we access from Google:
- Calendar names and IDs (so you can choose which to display)
- Event titles and times
- Whether events are all-day
- Whether events have a location attached
What we DON'T do with Google data:
- We never write, modify, or delete any calendar data
- We never store calendar events on servers (we have none)
- We never transmit calendar data to third parties
- We never access event descriptions, attendees, or attachments
PDF Export (User-Initiated)
When you generate a PDF dispute report:
- The PDF is created entirely on your device
- It contains your attendance data and GPS evidence for the date range you select
- You choose where to save or share it (Files, email, AirDrop, etc.)
- We never see or receive this data
Third-Party Services
Google OAuth
We use Google's OAuth service to authorize read-only access to your Google Calendar.
Scope we request:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly— Read calendar events only
Why we need this:
To display your existing Google Calendar events when you're deciding which days to work in-office. For example, seeing "Kids dentist at 3pm" helps you decide to work from home that day. This is read-only access—we never write to your calendar.
Data handling:
Calendar events are fetched when you view a day and displayed in the app. They are not permanently stored on your device. Your OAuth token is stored in iOS Keychain (encrypted, on-device). We don't store tokens on any server because we have no servers.
iCloud (Apple)
If you enable iCloud sync, Apple's iCloud service handles data synchronization. We don't control or access this data. Apple's Privacy Policy applies.
GPS and Location Data
How We Use Location
Arteeoo uses location data to help you build evidence of office attendance for RTO compliance disputes:
- Manual logging: When you tap "Log Location," we capture your current GPS coordinates
- Geofence detection (optional): If you grant "Always" location permission, we can automatically log when you arrive at or depart from configured office locations
- Office proximity: We calculate distance to your configured office(s) to verify you were actually there
What We Capture
- GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude)
- Horizontal accuracy of the reading
- Timestamp
- WiFi network name (SSID) if available—helps prove you were on office WiFi
- Distance and direction from your configured office location(s)
What We Don't Do
- We never track your location continuously
- We never track location outside of clock-in/clock-out moments
- We never send location data to any server (we have none)
- We never share location data with third parties
Permissions
- "When In Use": Allows manual "Log Location" button only
- "Always": Enables automatic geofence detection when you arrive/depart office
- You can change permissions anytime in iOS Settings
- You can use all other app features without granting location permission
Data Retention
- On-device data: Stored until you delete it
- Google Calendar events: Fetched on-demand, not permanently stored
- iCloud data: Follows Apple's retention policies
- Server-side data: None. We have no servers.
Data Security
- All local data is encrypted by iOS's standard device encryption
- Google OAuth tokens are stored in iOS Keychain (hardware-encrypted)
- No transmission of data to our servers (we have none)
- No cloud storage except optional iCloud (controlled by Apple and you)
